Bite splints

A bite splint is mainly intended for use at night. To get used to it, increase the time you wear it by one hour each day. You may experience some jaw joint discomfort; this is normal and should settle. Clean the splint with a separate toothbrush after every use. Disinfect it once a week using the products mentioned in the advice on removable dentures.
