If you have toothache

Carefully clean the area around the painful tooth. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with lukewarm water to remove any food debris. Never place aspirin directly on the gums or inside the painful tooth. If your face swells, apply a cold compress. If you do not have a painkiller you normally use at home, you can take an over-the-counter painkiller and see a dentist as soon as possible.
