Preventive care

 

•  Fissure sealants:

The chewing surfaces of back teeth have deep grooves that are difficult to clean and are particularly prone to decay. During fissure sealing, I fill these grooves with a liquid sealant. This forms a very thin layer and significantly reduces the risk of decay. Sealants are most effective when applied within a year of the tooth erupting, so they are mainly recommended for children.

 

•  Tartar removal (scaling):
Scaling is carried out using an ultrasonic instrument. In some cases, special hand instruments are also used to clean below the gum line.

•  Oral hygiene guidance:

I explain and demonstrate oral care techniques in detail, and we practise them together, including how to clean crowns, bridges, implants and dentures.

•  Fluoride treatment:
Fluoride strengthens teeth and makes them more resistant by becoming incorporated into their structure. At the practice, concentrated fluoride gel can be applied to the required tooth surfaces. This treatment can be recommended for both children and adults.
