Dental X-rays

 

•  Intraoral dental X-rays:

When only one or two teeth need to be examined, we take an intraoral dental X-ray. These images are taken at the practice while you sit in the dental chair. The practice has a high-frequency X-ray unit, keeping radiation exposure very low. Intraoral images show much more detail than panoramic images. They can be used to check the margins of fillings and the quality of root fillings, and to detect decay between teeth where they touch.

 

•  Panoramic X-rays:
Also known as an OPG, this provides an overall two-dimensional view of all the upper and lower teeth and the jawbones. It is not available at the practice, but I can refer you to an imaging centre in central Budapest.

 

•  3D dental imaging:

A 3D scan provides a correctly scaled three-dimensional image that can be viewed from several directions. The images allow us to assess both bone volume and bone quality. They may be needed for more extensive oral surgery or for planning dental implants. This service is not available at the practice, but I can refer you to an imaging centre in central Budapest.
